So, I haven't updated the site in a while, but things have been CRAZY! I was promoted at work, now an official project manager with the title, and I'm coordinating several projects for my employer. Out of the flame, into the fire. Also I've been slowly decorating my apartment to my tastes. It's strange to think I'm going to be living here longer than a year. Looking into some grad school programs now too, which ought to be interesting. I'm a glutton for punishment, what can I say. Another trip is in the works as well as a possible vlog, so stay tuned!

Did you actually expect me to update this during the summer? Guh lord, the weather is too nice in Boston for that! It's amazing how quickly the summer has come and gone, and now fall is upon us. I just got back from a quick trip to Nashville so there may be a few photos appearing on the website from that trip, which truly was fantastic. I'll also be taking some photos of the New England foliage this weekend in New Hampshire and Maine, so keep an eye out for that as well. I've been busy at work managing two rather high-priority projects, so that has kept my work cruising along. I'll be adding a new website to my portfolio shortly. I've become a huge fan of using CSS more than javascript. I just think it's friendlier and more 508-compliant. Carpe Diem y'all!

Spring has sprung! Magnolias in bloom, Tulips and Daffodils appearing this way and that, and the tiny buds of leaves peeping out. I spent a day after work last week taking photographs of this wonderland, playing around with macro photography. I have yet to process these images out, but I will do so shortly, so stay tuned. Also, working at MIT has its perks as well. Soon to be released is the latest hawk cam. We are fortunate enough to be able to observe two hawks and their two recently-hatched fledgelings, so I will be linking to that as soon as that information is available for the public! It's a really neat view, but it's live, so it can be kinda gross too. That's all for now, but lots of updates forthcoming! Stay tuned...

Flowers are beginning to bloom, yet most importantly, the biggest sign of spring - Opening Day at Fenway. I'm hoping to make it to a game this summer, if the wallet agrees. This coming weekend is the Boston Marathon. I haven't decided whether or not to come in, however I will be out and about taking photographs this weekend, if the weather cooperates. It's Easter, but it's also a long weekend for me, courtesy of Patriot's Day, and I'm not working at the YMCA. That means free time for the hobbies! If I get some good stuff I'll be sure to post it!

Spring is readily approaching Massachusetts, finally. April is just around the corner and this week has been fantastic weather-wise. What does that mean? It means that soon the springtime photography will begin. I'm excited. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there is a chance of photography this weekend. Speaking of this weekend, it's Daylight Savings Time, which means more light in the evening. So more photos are upcoming! Stay tuned...

So I'm slowly readjusting to life after vacation. Although I must say, I'm already planning a return trip. It really was a fantastic vacation, a beautiful area of the country, and offered me an opportunity to begin to think about a lot of things. I've recently started re-reading Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey. I vaguely remeber reading this years ago for one of my English classes, but after having been to Moab and Arches, the book has new meaning and insite. Or at least I hope it will ‹grins›.
I've also decided to be a little geek and include a favicon for my website which you can see either in the address bar. I think it's kinda neat and am rather proud that I now know how to do it, courtesy of a photoshop plug-in. You even have an idea of what my icon is at that size, surprisingly enough. Anyhow, its back to the grind, but hopefully I'll be able to finish up some additions to the website later.

So, just a quick note. I got most of my print photos developed at Ritz Camera the other day. One of my photos was chosen as their "photo of the week." Personally I thought a lot of my other photos were better, especially the digital ones, but I need to go through those and see whether or not I want to have any of those printed or enlarged. I'm rather picky about what I would frame. Who knows?

Ok, so I'm somewhere above 30,000 feet, on the first leg of my flight home. This really was an incredible trip. 1704 miles in 7 days. We were upgraded from a sedan to a Jeep Liberty, luckily, and were able to explore quite a bit, including one particularly crazy unpaved switchback road, just past the "Valley of the Gods". All-in-all this was an enjoyable trip. Not really relaxing per-se, but enjoyable. It merely gives me more reason to explore each of these parks in more detail.
The top 10 things I learned on this trip:

Yesterday was an INCREDIBLE day! I hope to upload photos later on of the trek, but it honestly was amazing. We started the day off from the Hampton Inn at Ridgefield, UT and headed toward Bryce Canyon. This was great and hopefully later I'll be able to upload photos from Bryce. After Bryce, we went to Zion National Park. This is a must-see, and I will be returning to this park in the future. This is a park where you can spend a few days hiking and more than that taking photographs. It's a stunning canyon where you actually can drive down into the base, there are many walking trails, and impressive and diverse landscape and flora. Very beautiful.
After that, we returned to Las Vegas for a final night before flying out this morning. We stayed at a HoJo's which was affordable, due to it being a convention week. We spent the evening watching the fountain show at the Bellagio Lagoon, doing some souvenier shopping, and went to bed on the early side as we were both switching back to EST. This trip was AMAZING. A true buffet sampler of national parks. I will be returning in the near future to explore these parks in detail, that I can promise. I hope you enjoy all of the photos. When I get the chance I will enable you to click to see a larger version of the image, but that's a project for the weekend, maybe, after I get some REAL sleep. I'd love to hear any feedback you might have, so please email me!

Greetings from Ridgefield, Utah! I just uploaded images from yesterday's trek through Monument Valley, Natural Bridge, and Arches National Park, with moderate difficulty. I don't think my hosting service likes me connecting from all of these different locales! I can't send any e-mails, only read, so Ron, if you see this, thanks for the great e-mail and I'll write you when I get service! I'm off to Bryce Canyon today and then back to Vegas. Talk to you again soon!

Today is the launch of my new website. It has been in development for a short while, and will have updated photographs from my current vacation. As I type this, I am in Kayenta, AZ. It's rather odd in that I have internet access but no cell phone service. This has been a whirlwind trip thus far to Atlanta, Las Vegas, Flagstaff, and we're on to Cedar City, UT next. It's been an adventure! I've already started to plan a return trip here to spend more time, hopefully hiking and camping in warmer weather. Stay tuned for more updates, as web service is available!
